Our son Alex married his wife Andrea in 2005 on his leave after returning from Iraq. He's in the Army and stationed in Ft. Benning, GA. Unfortunately, 2009 was a tragic year for our family, Alex and Andrea's little boy, our beautiful little AJ, who was 2 1/2 years old and the apple of his grandparents' eye, died in June as a result of accidental drowning at his maternal aunt's home. This happened just 2 days after our daughter, Katie, graduated from high school. It made it hard to truly appreciate the happy occasion for Katie. We have all had a very difficult time dealing with all of this. Andrea was 4 months pregnant at the time, which was a blessing. It gave us all somethingto hold onto. On November 18th, 2009, our dear little Aubree was born. She is sweet, and mellow and looks just like her big brother. If it weren't for this dear little one I don't know how any of us would go on. Katie is going to U-Rock and working at a local pet store. Which of course means we have even more pets than before! So, now, we have cats, dogs, a rabbit (in the garage), a lizard and hamster (both in her room). Tom and I both conintue to work at our jobs. We've been married now almost 37 years, it will be in March. Time does fly! I'm still working as a court reporter and still enjoy it as much as ever - even after 38 years!
